At Timothy Christian School, we work with our students to bring out their best in the classroom and on the playground. We encourage them to aim for excellence in all that they do.
Timothy Christian School is associated with the Ontario Alliance of Christian Schools. The curriculum used in our classrooms meets and in most cases exceeds the Ontario Ministry of Education standards. TCS teachers are all certified with the Ontario College of Teachers or have equivalent certification. TCS students are taught in a safe and caring environment and are encouraged to aim for excellence in all their studies. Upon graduation, 80% of TCS students go on to make the honour roll in their secondary school studies. Our students have begun to participate in M.A.P. (Measurement of Academic Progress) testing and annually participate in the Gauss Math Test. Each school day starts with devotions, followed by Mathematics and Language Arts. Other subjects covered in the classroom include Bible, Science, French, Music, Physical and Health Education and Social Studies including Geography & History.
The Education Committee and Board of Timothy Christian School hire caring staff who are professing Christians. Our staff are dedicated professionals committed to ensuring that all children feel safe and accepted; ready to achieve their fullest potential. The teaching qualifications of our instructors equal or exceed the Ministry of Education.
You can register anytime for the current or upcoming school year.
Timothy Christian School is open to all students in JK to Grade 8, regardless of gender, race, religion, or disability.
Application forms are available by contacting the school office anytime throughout the year. Families are encouraged to come and tour the school and meet our principal. Students are also welcome to come and spend the morning or afternoon in the classroom, meet the teachers and other students.
Not necessarily. However, our concept of Christian education assumes a full commitment of the family to our educational goals. In keeping with this, we would like to see that all of a family’s school-age children be registered with us, but understand every family has different requirements. One exception to this is when we decline to accept a student because he or she has special needs which we are unable to meet. The other children in the family are still welcome with us.
Yes, students are always welcome to join us at any time.
Yes. TCS does not receive any federal or provincial government funding to operate the school. Our funding comes from our parents that pay a family rate tuition. (Meaning a family can enroll one, two, three or more children for one price.) Depending on the number of children a family has enrolled, a portion of the tuition may be considered as a charitable donation on your personal tax return. If a family meets the qualifications, tuition assistance, new to Christian education or ministry discounts may be available. Contact the school office to find out if you qualify for any discounts and the current tuition rate.
TCS students are very well-prepared for high school. The vast majority displays a strong work ethic and the confidence and skills needed to be successful in high school. Many TCS graduates are on the honour roll throughout their time at high school. TCS students quite often win high school graduation awards for excellence in English, Mathematics, Science, the Arts and many other program areas.
I love that I can send my kids to school and know that efforts will be made so that they will not be excluded, teased, bullied, or pressured by social stigmas. I love that they can be themselves and will be accepted. I love that they can be in a learning environment where they are encouraged, cheered on, and supported by their teachers and classmates and come away with confidence. I love watching kids from JK all the way up to grade 8 being kids and having fun together.
I don’t think, I happen to know…that your family will never get a better education anywhere. The preparation the students receive at TCS will prepare them for any further education they decided to undertake, Bravo Timothy Christian School.
Timothy Christian School was such a blessing for me…I had a teacher who did not give up on me… I was encouraged and challenged both personally and spiritually…I am grateful for the opportunity to have graduated from this school…what a blessing to be educated based on Christian principles.
I love that the school is a community of families who come together to keep the school vibrant and current, where parents are active and involved in decision making. I love that my children are challenged by the academics and want to meet deadlines, and the high standards expected of them. I love that Christian values and morals of respect, honesty, humility, kindness, and forgiveness, are prominent in every classroom, the school yard and hallways. I could go on.
5 stars isn’t enough to describe how happy I am with this school. It is abundantly clear how important the kids are to the teachers, the principal and all the support staff & volunteers. After being in the public system for 6 years, it is incredibly refreshing to be in a school where the politics of unions and infighting is completely gone and all are focused on educating and nurturing our kids. Thanks to the staff & volunteers at TCS. It’s not easy to run an independent school, much less to do with such a level of excellence that you are accomplishing.
We have only been part of TCS for a month now and I have been truly impressed by the quality of education and genuine care. The interest shown to each child treating them as an individual is incredible and the passion and devotion of the teachers and the Headmaster is amazing. I love the fact that cursive handwriting and spelling are seen as important skills to have and the standard of teaching is so high. I wish we had joined the school earlier and would recommend any parent that values good morals, strong faith based teaching and excellent education to visit this school.
