Registration

Registration for the new school year into all grades from JK-8 is usually held at the end of March or beginning of April.  However new and transfer students are welcome at any point in the school year.  CLICK HERE to download our application form.

Who may apply?

Timothy Christian School is open to all students, regardless of gender, race, religion, or disability.  Three conditions are attached to the statement above:  Families who have other religious commitments than we do are welcome to send their children, but they will be asked, as are all parents, to sign on our application form an acknowledgment that our school is administered and our subjects taught from the Christian perspective outlined in our Constitution, and their acceptance of this. Exemption from Bible classes or other religious activities will not be granted.  The Board may decline to register or re-register a student if in their opinion the lifestyle of the family is so foreign to traditional Christian standards that it might be a disruptive influence within the school community; or if the behaviour of the student has been in serious violation of our school’s Discipline Code.  We welcome children with physical, learning or behavioural disabilities provided that we have the resources to be of significant benefit to them without undue undermining of our services to other students. The final judge of this, after due consultation, will be the Principal.

How and when do we apply?

Application forms may be fiiled out and submitted on-line or obtained from the office at any time. We particularly emphasize recruitment for the coming year in April and May, and a number of special opportunities to investigate the school are scheduled then. Families who wish to find out more about the school at other times, though, are welcome to call for an appointment to tour the school, meet with the Principal or a Board member, and even have their children join our classes for an hour or a day.

Can my child start school earlier than in the public system?

We adhere to the same guideline that the public schools do: a child must be 4 years old by December 31 to be enrolled in junior kindergarten.  Our Kindergarten program runs 3 full days per week.

Do I need to send all the children in my family?

Not necessarily. However, our concept of Christian education assumes a full commitment of the family to our educational goals. In keeping with this, we would like to see that all of a family’s school-age children be registered with us, but understand every family has different requirements.  One exception to this is when we decline to accept a student because he or she has special needs which we are unable to meet. The other children in the family are still welcome with us.

May we join at any time through the school year?

Children of families moving into our area will be accepted at any time of year, provided all other criteria are met. Children transferring from a local school will normally be registered at the start of one of our marking periods, i.e. immediately after summer holidays, Christmas holidays or March Break. However, each child’s circumstances are unique and we will accommodate each student accordingly.

Financial Assistance

Can I get any financial assistance to send my children?  We do whatever we can to enable you to give your children a Christian education. You must be a member of the Society to request financial assistance.
